Computer for Schools
The Lake Victoria region is heavily populated and most schools can’t afford to have a computer. Friends Pioneer seeks to start “Computer for school” Project in the region. The aim is that each School amongst where the children of Friends Pioneer are will have donated computers. Friends Pioneer will do Trainer of Teachers (TOT) where the teacher is taught basic computer skills. The teachers will then be able to teach out this skills to there children in their class. Friends Pioneer will have three years partnership programme with each school, who been donated a computer, this to assure that the project moves on well. Friends Pioneer will maintain and repair the computer during the three year contract. The condition to get a computer donated is that it will have to work full time, not over or under worked.
Computer lessonsLearning computer skills as early as possible means that these children will be more employable, those who go on to college will be better prepared, and those who drop out will have a better chance of finding legitimate employment and supporting themselves. Furthermore, students who feel they are learning valuable and relevant skills are more likely to stay in school. These programs seeks to enhance computer literacy within the community of Nyalenda slums in the most cost effective and practical way.
